Kingdom Guarded is based on the scripture Philippians 4:4-9. This scripture is often found in the Christian world, when connected to mental health, due to the famous verse that says, "Do not be anxious about anything, ...". I've found this often contributes to shame or guilt when we, as Christians, begin to feel anxious. I personally see this scripture as recognition and anticipation that we will indeed at times feel anxious. But, through this scripture, we are also encouraged not to sit in our anxious thoughts. Instead, we are to redirect our thoughts to thanksgiving. Thinking on what is pleasing to the Lord, guarding our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. 

Kingdom Guarded is a place where you can find courses, free guides, and other tools that I have learned through counseling to help you along your journey. From parenting kids with big emotions to individuals walking through daily struggles of anxiety, depression, etc. My hope for this platform is to provide a space and community for like-minded believers to grow in Christ as they grow in their mental health.

An LPC-Associate is the acronyms for Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate. I am currently licensed in the state of Texas to work in the field of Clinical Mental Health. I meet with a supervisor, Nicole Ponce LPC-S, once a week as I am working towards my LPC license.

As a licensed professional, I do not intend for this website, content, courses, etc. to take the place of your individual counseling journey in anyway but rather an added resource that's intended to be helpful.

My journey began during my undergraduate years, as I felt a calling to the field of counseling in the early stages of my sophomore year at college. This inspired me to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Psychology at Central Baptist College.

The following year I devoted 7 months to overseas missions, an experience that fostered a deeper connection and walk with Christ. This led me to Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, where I attained a Master's in Counseling.

I am now happily married and walking through motherhood with my 11-year-old stepson and 2-year-old son. My current pursuits involve skillfully managing the intricate balance between family life, motherhood, and my role as a Christian Counselor in private practice.

I am a firm believer that Christ should be central in every area of our lives, including our mental health. Though I work with a wide range of clients, from believers to non-believers. My heart truly is to point others to Christ, to find peace and rest through him. Along with this, I integrate skills and tools from CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and other approaches in order to meet my clients where they're at as they navigate their mental health journey.
